An unorthodox killing
draws the attention of the two officers working on the case,
Phyllis Conway and her ex-partner, newly promoted detective
Alistair Rhodes. The unusual victim, location, and execution
of the murder remain mysterious until another victim is
found the next day.
The mystery surrounding the murders begins
to dissolve as connections are found between Phyllis and the
victims. Amidst her frustrations with work and her newly
pretentious ex-partner, Phyllis starts to explode under the
pressures of a new Internal Affairs investigation into her
relationship with this series of victims.
When the killer begins taunting Phyllis with
phone calls and the plan for more killings, Phyllis grasps
at straws to hold onto her sanity. Her relationships at work
begin to crumble, and the IA investigation continues to
implicate her as it finds more and more connections between
her and the murder victims.
But it all falls apart when the killer
reveals her knowledge of Phyllis’ past. Old secrets and lies
threaten both Phyllis and Alistair and strain their
relationship to the breaking point while they argue their
best course of action. It’s the killer’s final phone call
and her declaration of a final murder that spurs Phyllis to
action, and one of the hardest decisions she’ll ever have to
make.
